Beta Terms

Version 1.0 — 2026-09-19

Thanks for helping test SoundZapper. These terms cover your use of the beta. By accepting them you agree to what follows. If you do not agree, do not use the beta.

SoundZapper is offered by Eisbach Solutions UG (haftungsbeschränkt) ("we", "us"). Our company details are in the imprint.

1. This is beta software

SoundZapper is a work in progress. It can crash, lose data, behave unexpectedly, or change without warning. Features may be added, changed, or removed at any time, and we do not promise that the app or any online service behind it will be available or keep working. Please keep your own backups of anything you care about. You use the beta at your own risk.

2. Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for any damage or loss arising from your use of the beta, including lost data, lost work, or downtime. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law: under German law, in particular, liability for intent and gross negligence, and for injury to life, body, or health, is not excluded.

3. Usage data during the beta

During the beta, the app shares usage data with us so we can improve the product. This includes which features you use, scan and pack statistics (for example pack names and how many presets each pack holds), interaction events, and error reports. No audio is ever uploaded, and we do not collect full file paths. Preset and pack names are included on purpose, because they help us understand which sounds matter. The data is tied to your account when you are signed in, otherwise to a random install id generated once on your device. You can see what is collected any time in Settings, next to a link back to these terms.

4. License

For the duration of the beta we grant you a personal, non-transferable right to use SoundZapper. You may not redistribute the app or reverse engineer it. Presets you already own stay entirely yours. Presets you create in the app, including bred or generated ones, belong to you.

4a. Third-party presets and sounds

SoundZapper works with preset libraries that are already installed on your computer — Serum’s factory content and packs you bought elsewhere. These terms give you no rights to that content; whatever license came with it still applies. When you share or sell sounds you made, making sure the underlying presets and samples allow it is your responsibility.

4b. Feedback

Ideas, bug reports, and suggestions you send us during the beta can be used by us freely and without obligation — that is how the beta gets better.

4c. Not a backup service

SoundZapper is not a backup tool. We do not guarantee that scans, tags, favorites, or generated presets survive updates or resets during the beta. Anything you want to keep, save it yourself (bred presets you saved to Serum’s user folder stay on your disk and are yours).

5. Ending the beta

We may end your beta access, or the beta as a whole, at any time and without notice. Sections 2 (liability), 4–4c (what belongs to whom), and 6 (governing law) continue to apply after the beta ends.

6. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Federal Republic of Germany. Our imprint, including who is responsible and how to reach us, is at soundzapper.com/imprint.
